Today it's exactly one year since we moved to LA. This is what it looked like when we said goodbye to my parents at Copenhagen airport. It felt so unreal that we were going to move to the other side of the world. On the flight over here we sat next to Pierce Brosnan's son, without even knowing it was his son until he gave Mattias his emailaddress. Pierce, himself, was on that flight too. We were jetlagged, but full of expectations when we landed in the city of angels. It took a day or two before I got out of the big hotel we were staying at the first month. It felt like we had everything in there; gym, a swimming pool and Starbucks. After a while though I understood that there were so much more outside of those four walls than just endless roads and palmtrees. It takes a while to really get to know LA. But when you do, you'll learn that there's so much more to love here besides from the gorgeous weather!
Idag är det exakt ett år sedan vi landade i Los Angeles. Såhär såg det ut när mina föräldrar vinkade av oss på Kastrup. Så overkligt det känns att flytta till andra sidan jordklotet. Vi satt bredvid Pierce Brosnans son på hitvägen, utan att fatta att det var han förrän han gav sin emailadress till Mattias. Självaste Pierce var på planet, han med. Jetlaggade och förväntansfulla landade vi i drömmarnas stad, som till en början var obegripligt stor och svår att förstå sig på. Det tog en dag eller två innan jag gick det stora hotellkomplexet vi bodde på första månaden. Allt fanns ju där, gym, Starbucks, pool... Och utanför: bara vägar och en massa palmer. Men nu vet jag bättre. LA är en stad som det tar tid att förstå sig på. När man varit här ett tag så inser man att det finns mycket mer att att älska i LA förutom det fantastiska vädret.
